My personal story has shaped the way I am able to support you in shaping yours.
As as an only child to immigrant parents with a strict religious upbringing, I was conditioned to believe I had a life of limitations in this world. The lack of financial wealth in my family added to that. I didn’t know what I didn’t know but what I did know was that I wanted things to be different for myself. So I followed what I thought what would be the way out, to more freedom. That went from educational achievement to corporate ladder-climbing. I spent 6 years as an investment banker before I obtained an Ivy League MBA from The Wharton School. I worked at impactful organizations like the World Bank in Washington DC and Dubai before helping two multi-billion dollar unicorn payments startups go public. I focused on doing and achieving, and I did it well. Somehow, it wasn’t satisfying. Something was missing. I felt disconnected from myself.
I knew that I loved learning and seeking. I have seen and done a lot, and my seeking taught me even more. I went from investing in Peruvian gold mines to assisting in Peruvian plant medicine ceremonies. My fancy degrees and jet-setting corporate life became a spiritually awakened life, and I’ve done everything from meditating silently for 10 days in Thailand at a Vipassana course to participating in tantra retreats in the jungles of Bali. I’m a Certified Psychedelic Integration Coach with The Third Wave, a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher, a Reiki Level 2 practitioner, and Somatic Breathwork facilitator. What I learned was acceptance, surrender, and trust, which have helped me create balance and joy in my life.
In short, I’ve done a lot of work on myself that has helped me on my healing journey from being blindly conditioned by society, family, and religion to becoming awakened and consciously choosing how to direct my life with the highest level of joy at all times. I went from doing to being.
Outside of my personal coaching offerings, I direct plant medicine retreats for global leaders and entrepreneurs with 1heart Journeys in Costa Rica, facilitate movement and ecstatic dance as DJ Shalman, lead powerful breathwork journeys trained through Somatic Breathwork, and sell beautiful jewelry and curated spiritual artifacts as the founder of Spirit Luminous.
